. . . I guess the best way to put it is . . . he looks more mature like this. I overheard someone saying that it looks more traditional/historically accurate with the black coat. I'm not entirely sure how true this is, though.

There are people with worst costumes in Samurai Warriors 3, but this isn't really one of my favorites either. The new armour looks bulky, and I'm not really used to that idea yet. It's not such a distraction that I'll never be able to get used to it, but I think my favorite Masamune will always remain the Samurai Warriors 2 version. Because that dragon cape was seriously kickass. [link]

I'm so happy. They finally gave her a more useful weapon! And, weapon aside, I actually rather like this new outfit. In certain aspects, it still has a lot of similarities to her previous ones (not including the second one in SW). The main color is pink, for instance, and it's definitely girly. It actually feels more like an update instead of an entirely new costume . . . The only thing is that they may have over done it a bit with that bow in her hair, especially since Oichi's character design was supposed to have matured since the original Samurai Warriors. Or that could just be me. Whatever.


Kunoichi:

I'm going to get her out of the way now. With Gracia gone, Kunoichi goes back to being my least favorite in the game. It sort of resembles her second outfit in the original Samurai Warriors . . . only even sluttier, since the top has been reduced to a bikini-style thing. It's also very pink. Very un-ninja-like all around.

Yep. I hate Kunoichi.

Yukimura Sanada:

I have to say, Yukimura's is one of my favorites, possibly even the best new outfit, in my opinion. They kept the crimson color scheme - which is important! - but chose to make it a little more appealing by adding some dark blues in there. Personally, I could have lived with just a little bit less blue, but it looks good this way, too.

Since he's more or less the main character of the series, it's actually kind of obvious that Koei would want him to look cool . . . you guys succeeded for another game . . .

Really, as long as that Canon Spear REMAINS a Canon Spear, I'm fine. Props to Koei, for making such an awesome, totally obvious weapon. Regardless of wether or not it would work in real life. This isn't real life, this is a video game. Spears that shoot canon balls can exist if we say so.

At first glance, it looked like a totally new idea. But then, you realize, that he still has mostly the same colors as in Samurai Warriors 2, they just added details and some more blue. So, really, the colors are almost the exact same. The jacket was transformed into a cape, and the chest armour changed. But . . . I still like it. He looks more like he means serious business this way, which is probably a good thing, for the future ruler of Japan.

And so concludes my first rant on Samurai Warriors costumes. Anyone in particular you want to hear about next? Yes, no? If I don't get any requests - not that I'm expecting any, since most of my watchers aren't as nerdy as I am - I'll probably mention Motochika and Ina for sure next, and possibly Hanbei. Seriously, I'm not letting go of that. He looks like a little kid! But he's not! D:
